Job summary

Contoro Robotics, based in Austin, TX, seeks an Engineering Technician to support assembly, configuration, commissioning, and testing of advanced robotic systems. You will work across mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces to ensure each robot is properly assembled and ready for deployment.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, experience with Linux environments, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in engineering technology, mechatronics, robotics, or related field.
• 3+ years in electromechanical assembly, manufacturing, or robotic system integration.
• Strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills with wiring and schematics interpretation.
• Working knowledge of Linux OS, command-line navigation, and basic scripting.
• Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot integrated hardware and software systems.
• Basic networking knowledge including IP addressing and Ethernet.
• Experience with technical test procedures, diagnostics, and documentation.
• Proficient with hand tools, test equipment, and shop practices.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble robotic systems, including drive, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and arms.
• Wire electrical panels, route cables, and verify connections per specs.
• Interpret drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions for accurate build.
• Configure and commission robotics systems with PLCs, sensors, cameras, LiDAR.
• Run FATs, automated tests, and document results; resolve issues before acceptance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to improve processes.
