Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in San Francisco is seeking a seasoned supply chain professional to own strategic sourcing, supplier management, and hardware manufacturing partnerships. You will collaborate with R&D during the design-to-procurement cycle, scale to NPI and high-volume production, and build a resilient vendor ecosystem while navigating early-stage challenges.

This in-person role requires 4 days a week on site and up to 30% travel to vendor sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience with technical hardware and supplier decisions.
• Solid grounding in supply chain fundamentals including purchasing, negotiation and supplier management.

Responsibilities

• In this role you will partner with engineering during R&D to source components, qualify vendors, and obtain quotes and samples quickly.
• Build supplier relationships across relevant categories and adapt to shifting needs.
• Evaluate quotes, lead times and vendor capabilities to make sound decisions with partial data.
• Collaborate with legal, finance and leadership to gather approvals and remove roadblocks.
• Help stand up processes, tools and vendor scorecards for a growing supply chain organization.
• As we move into NPI, work with engineering and quality on DFM feedback, first-article inspection and pilot builds.
• As scale grows, transition sourcing from prototype vendors to production-grade suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Flag risks early and propose solutions to mitigate single-source, long-lead, or quality issues.
