Job summary

HITT Contracting seeks a Robotics Software Lead to set the technical direction of our robotics software team and drive development for complex construction sites in Falls Church, VA. You’ll own the software stack, mentor engineers, and coordinate with partnerships to scale field deployments.

You will guide architecture across autonomy, perception, and cloud-connected services while maintaining safety and cybersecurity standards. Travel to active sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in robotics, computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in robotics software development, including demonstrated experience leading software engineering teams that deployed complex field robotics applications.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, and Linux-based robotics development and system-level troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and technical direction of the robotics software stack, including interfaces and design standards.
• Own the software infrastructure for development, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and fleet support.
• Lead decisions across autonomy, perception, manipulation, and cloud-connected services.
• Integrate third-party technologies via APIs, SDKs, and middleware.
• Ensure safety, cybersecurity, maintainability, and resilience on active construction sites.
• Contribute hands-on with architecture reviews, prototyping, and cross-stack issue diagnosis.
• Travel to active construction sites for testing and deployment support.
