Job summary

Shift Robotics is building the next generation of Moonwalkers and is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer for the Embedded Systems team. You will design, prototype, and test robust hardware-software systems powering wearable robotics.

The role focuses on embedded software development, system architecture, hardware integration, and rigorous validation across the full software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of embedded software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for wearable robotics, including system software and BIST.
• Lead the system architecture design of the product firmware and ensure high-quality, safety-critical software.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with motor controllers, sensors, and interfaces.
• Design and build test frameworks and use cases to verify hardware/software integration.
• Lead code reviews, manage merges, and maintain repository health; optimize CI/CD and automated tests.
• Develop production-line testing software and support cross-department troubleshooting.
