Job summary

Sunday Robotics is building home robotics technology and seeking a Firmware Engineer to own end-to-end firmware for wearable devices and the home robot. You will collaborate across hardware, firmware, and software teams to deliver robust embedded solutions.

The role involves working on real-time embedded software, embedded Linux, drivers, and hardware bring-up, with a strong emphasis on cross-disciplinary problem solving.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of real-time embedded software development with RTOS experience.
• Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust.
• Ability to read schematics and layouts.
• Experience with I2C, SPI, UART, CAN (FD), or Ethernet.

Responsibilities

• Own firmware end-to-end across wearable and robot, from architecture and implementation through integration and production.
• Write high-performance host-side systems software serving as the interface layer between firmware and higher-level software.
• Develop robust communications, OTA, and diagnostics infrastructure for embedded devices.
• Work with the EE team to design and bring up new hardware.
• Solve difficult cross-functional problems spanning hardware, firmware, embedded Linux, and higher-level software.
