Job summary

CircuitHub is deploying The Grid, a factory-scale robotics platform for high-mix electronics assembly. We are seeking a senior software architect to design and implement the robot operating system, integrate vision, and push large-model integration into production.

You will work on Python and Rust, with potential C++ involvement, to ensure robust architecture, testing, concurrency, and clear interfaces. Willingness to visit US/UK factories is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience on a large-scale robot codebase in production.
• Strong software engineering with Python and Rust (or C++ with Rust willingness).
• Care about types, testing, concurrency and clear architecture.
• Experience with motion/path planning, multi-robot coordination, controls, perception, scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Architect the robot operating system and core abstractions for robots, cameras, tools and jobs.
• Integrate novel vision algorithms into the control loop for production reliability.
• Program large models in robots: datasheet-driven parts, vision-based part assessment, fault recovery.
• Coordinate fleet movement of movers, gantries, printers and ovens with deadlock avoidance.
• Design clean interfaces between high-level planning and real-time controllers.
• Enable observability with simulation, tracing and replay to validate changes before deployment.
