Ampcus Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Software Development Engineer I to join the Agentic AI and Applied Foundation Model team. You will help build reliable tools and infrastructure for robotics software, machine learning workflows, and test automation.

Collaborating with hardware, firmware, simulation, and ML teams, you will translate complex operational knowledge into scalable software, covering diagnostic tooling, automation, and rigorous verification across compute environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Software development with Python and C++.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming.
• Experience designing, implementing, testing, and operating production-quality software.
• Experience with Linux systems, command-line tooling, networking fundamentals, and debugging distributed systems.
• Experience building automation, internal developer tools, backend services, or systems integrations.
• Familiarity with APIs, structured data, databases, and event-driven systems.
• Ability to investigate ambiguous problems and turn manual processes into maintainable software.
• Strong written and verbal communication across hardware and software teams.

Responsabilités

• Develop tools for diagnosing, maintaining, and upgrading robotic systems.
• Convert operational knowledge into structured, searchable, context-aware support systems.
• Build automation for workflows including triage, ownership, notifications, and remediation.
• Design systems that automate actions with human review and auditability.
• Maintain a registry of robots, test runs, software artifacts, models, firmware, and assets.
• Establish traceability between test inputs and results for reproducibility and auditing.
• Identify configuration and asset drift across development, simulation, and physical systems.
• Create automated verification and regression-testing workflows for robotics software.
• Reproduce robot software stacks in development or lab environments for debugging and testing.
• Assist with separating software workloads from hardware and validate across compute environments.
• Support testing and performance evaluation of ML inference paths.
• Improve observability through logging, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and tooling.
• Participate in design reviews, incident response, and continuous improvement of processes.
• Produce documentation and share knowledge across teams.
