Job summary

Simbe Robotics in California is seeking a strong Python and C engineer to join the robot software team working on the Tally autonomous platform. You will help drive navigation, perception, and automation across the stack, with emphasis on reliability and performance.

Candidates should have 2+ years industry experience, proficiency in C and Python, ROS knowledge, Linux, Git, and experience deploying software in production. Familiarity with ROS1/ROS2, Docker, and cloud/DevOps concepts will help.

Qualifications

• 2 years of industry experience required
• Extremely adept in both C and Python programming
• Proficient in shell scripting, preferably with Bash and Python
• Good understanding of the Robot Operating System (ROS) and core concepts; ROS1/ROS2 preferred
• Experience writing ROS nodes and using Git for source control
• Experience with Ubuntu or other Debian-based Linux distributions
• Exposure to modern software development methodologies (CI/CD, Scrum, automated testing)
• Experience in packaging and deploying software in production environments

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and extending the Tally software stack
• Developing new software packages to share across Simbe teams
• Improving autonomy, navigation, perception, and HRI behaviors
• Assisting in DevOps and CI/CD efforts
• Evaluating third-party software packages (ROS, etc.) for integration into the stack
