Job summary

Amazon Robotics seeks an Applied Scientist to design, build, and validate simulation environments and policy training pipelines for learning manipulation and mobility skills in simulation and transfer to real hardware.

You will work at the intersection of robotics simulation science and Physical AI, building GPU-accelerated RL environments and coordinating with multiple teams to advance robot learning in simulation and on real robots.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as JAX, PyTorch, and TensorRT.
• Background in robotics design, automation, or control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement GPU-accelerated RL and imitation learning environments for manipulation and mobility tasks.
• Build and maintain policy training pipelines and evaluate trained policies in simulation.
• Characterize and reduce sim-to-real gaps through systematic validation against real robot data.
