Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a researcher to advance the next generation of robotic simulation systems. You will work with world‑class teams on dexterous manipulation, locomotion, and human‑robot interaction, applying deep learning and AI to bridge theory and practice.

You will design scalable simulation tools, optimize performance, and contribute to production‑quality codebases while staying current with numerical methods and GPU architectures.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree with 2+ years in CS/CE/ML or related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with GPU programming experience (CUDA).
• Experience with robotics simulation environments such as MuJoCo, Newton, Drake and/or Isaac Lab.
• Expertise in numerical methods for multibody dynamics, frictional contact, FEM/MPM or similar physics-based simulation.
• Experience contributing to production-quality scientific or simulation software.
• Proficiency in linear algebra, differential equations, and numerical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with simulation and robotics experts to translate needs into robust simulation solutions.
• Design and implement high-performance simulation modeling and tools for rigid and deformable bodies.
• Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in simulation pipelines for real-time and batch workloads.
• Help build validation and unit testing pipelines to ensure correctness and fidelity.
• Address sim-to-real gaps with modeling and numerical approximations.
• Stay current with advances in numerical methods, parallel computing, and GPU architectures.
