Job summary

FieldAI’s Irvine team is offering a 12-week internship focused on connecting real-world robot deployments with autonomy development. You will collaborate with simulation and autonomy engineers on scoped projects in simulation tooling, sensor fidelity, real-to-sim workflows, or autonomy evaluation, with opportunities to validate against real robot data.

You will gain hands-on experience with Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo, Unity, or Unreal, and work with ROS2, URDF/USD assets, and CI workflows.

Qualifications

Pursuing BS/MS/PhD in a technical field (CS/Robotics/EE/ME).
Programming in Python and/or C++ through coursework or projects.
Foundational knowledge in robotics, simulation, graphics, physics, or software engineering.

Responsibilities

Work on a 12-week internship project with simulation and autonomy engineers.
Develop or improve robotics simulation tools using Python and/or C++.
Evaluate and improve simulation fidelity in sensor modeling, timing, or environment representation.
Build tools for scenario execution, log replay, regression testing, metrics, or visualization.
Document approach and share results via final demo and handoff.
