Job summary

Actalent in California seeks a Surgical Technologist to ensure the sterile field and prepare the OR at the start of each day, transporting specimens and setting up cases in a timely, aseptic manner. You will work with surgeons in neurology, orthopedics, and robotics, perform sponge and instrument counts, and maintain clean, efficient environments on four 10-hour shifts with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification from AHA.
• Certified Surgical Tech (CST) is required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience scrubbing a variety of standard surgical care lines, excluding cardiac, with robotics and orthopedics.

Responsibilities

• Ensure surgical room is clean at the start of the day by wiping down with alcohol.
• Check for cleanliness throughout the day of all equipment and furniture.
• Transport specimens to the lab.
• Assemble, maintain, and protect sterile fields.
• Open and set-up cases in a timely manner adhering to aseptic and sterile technique.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with other team members.
