Job summary

Trace is seeking a researcher to tackle core problems in robot learning, focusing on how to structure real-world data for training and how to train and evaluate models on that data. You will report to the Chief Scientist and conduct frontier research on data quality with the aim of pushing our systems forward.

You'll work closely with engineering and data teams to ensure research findings translate into pipelines and product changes.

Qualifications

• Requires research-focused graduate degree in robotics/AI.
• Ability to design and run experiments on real-world robotic data.
• Experience translating research into deployable systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and run experiments on training robotics, vision, and embodied AI models using real-world data.
• Investigate how data quality, structure, and diversity affect model performance.
• Develop evaluation methodologies to measure progress of models and datasets.
• Stay current with robot learning literature and translate findings into actionable work.
• Collaborate with engineering and data teams to turn research into pipelines and products.
