Job summary

Walden Robotics in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Release Engineer to own the end-to-end process that turns candidate builds into trusted field deployments. You will qualify releases, run rigorous hardware tests, and ensure what we ship works in the lab and in real environments.

You’ll collaborate with robot software, controls, AI, and DevOps engineers to define test strategies, automate validation, and act as the quality gate before releases reach customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in test engineering, release engineering, or QA for complex software or robotic systems.
• Hands-on hardware testing experience with robots or electromechanical systems.
• Ability to own the release process end-to-end and ship software to production or real devices.

Responsibilities

• Release Qualification: define what “ready to ship” means and validate candidate builds.
• Release Process Ownership: drive end-to-end release, cut, validate, promote, and track releases to deployed robots.
• Hardware Testing: design and run functional, integration, performance, and safety tests on real hardware.
• Field & Deployment Validation: verify releases in real deployment conditions and catch regressions.
• Test Development: build and maintain test suites, scenarios, and fixtures.
