Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a robotics software engineer to develop and maintain the ROS ecosystem, and to run experiments on hardware and clusters. You will own lab tooling, integrate hardware and software, and contribute to CI/CD workflows while presenting findings to the team.

The role emphasizes hands-on robotics work with real hardware, ROS proficiency, and strong Python/C++ programming skills in a Linux environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong Linux experience and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with real robotic hardware.
• Proficiency with ROS (ROS1/ROS2) and robotics software development.
• Strong Python and/or C++ programming skills.
• Experience with Git-based version control.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the robot software stack (ROS ecosystem).
• Execute and troubleshoot robot experiments on hardware and cluster environments.
• Own lab setup and tooling (equipment ordering, setup, maintenance).
• Compute infrastructure.
• Integrate and debug robot systems across hardware + software layers.
• Contribute to Git-based development workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Present updates, experiment results, and designs in team settings.
