Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in La Porte, IN, seeks a Robotics Automation Programmer to develop and maintain robotic programs across the manufacturing process, including Monoshell, Foundry, Casting, and post-cast areas.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust automation solutions and minimize downtime. The role requires hands-on experience with Motoman or Fanuc robots, offline programming, fixture design, and strong documentation practices.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• Two-year technical degree or minimum of 3 years’ related manufacturing programming experience.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship not available.
• Export-controlled data access restrictions apply.
• Experience with Motoman and/or Fanuc robots is preferred.
• Offline programming experience is preferred.
• Fixture design familiarity for robotic cells.
• CNC programming familiarity along with robotic programming.
• Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; if not present, must achieve within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Design/maintain robotic programs used throughout our manufacturing process.
• Design and program management of fixtures used within the robotic processes.
• Support/train manufacturing operators on the use of automation within the process.
• Documentation of all changes to production programs for future correlation to downstream process outputs.
• Determine key input variables within the automation process to ensure robustness against dimensional variations.
• Determine/implement key output variables to validate successful completion before running additional product.
