Job summary

Amazon Robotics in the greater Boston area seeks a Process Engineer to develop, install, validate, and optimize complex manufacturing processes for robotics. You will collaborate across Operations and cross-geographically to define requirements, procure equipment, and drive cost-reduction initiatives, communicating progress to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 1+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience.
• Ability to manage and deliver projects with accelerated schedules.
• Experience with written and verbal business communications, including white papers and metrics.
• Experience with process analysis and optimization methods including process mapping, time studies, line balancing, or simulation tools.
• Experience in New Product Introduction environment including Phase-Gate process experience.
• Experience using Problem Solving Tools (8D, Fishbone/Cause-Effect, CAPA).
• Experience with PFMEA/DFMEA and risk mitigation.
• Experience reviewing and generating product/fixture designs in SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate manufacturing processes for NPI from prototype to production release.
• Drive process optimization and cost reduction across scaling production lines.
• Draft business cases and planning documents for capital equipment investments.
• Implement technology and tooling improvements to improve safety, quality, and cost.
• Conduct risk assessments to ensure production readiness.
• Travel ~10% to support cross-site collaboration.
