Summit Polymers is seeking an Engineer, Manufacturing (Paint) to oversee hands-on technical work in robotic painting and the manufacture of injection molded plastic parts for automotive interior trim. You will provide technical leadership to production teams with a focus on operational excellence.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or 5 years automotive manufacturing/paint coatings experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office—Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Independent thinking with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Preferred experience in automotive painting, 6 axis ABB/Fanuc robots, and basecoat/clearcoat systems.

Responsabilidades

• Develop efficient and robust programs for 6 axis paint robots to meet specs and maximize throughput.
• Create paint processes for 1K/2K systems using automatic spray guns.
• Collaborate with suppliers to optimize paint racks and optimize cycle times and waste.
• Write standardized work instructions for operators to ensure best practices.
• Analyze paint usage and cycle times to meet demands while complying with emissions regulations.
• Lead cross-functional teams on scrap reduction using 5-Why problem solving.
• Maintain PM schedules for paint spray equipment and develop capital proposals.
