Job summary

Weave Robotics, Inc. in San Francisco is seeking a Systems Software Engineer focused on the OS to own the kernel, IPC, and real-time behavior.

You will work on boot, OTA updates, health monitoring, and unattended operation across a robotics compute platform with custom boards. You will partner with hardware, controls, and robotics teams to bring up new hardware, optimize scheduling, memory usage, and latency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working at the OS level, with Linux internals and real-time behavior.
• Proficient in production-quality C++ for embedded or real-time systems.
• Strong understanding of Linux systems programming (threading, memory, IPC, scheduling).
• Comfortable reading schematics and debugging across hardware, firmware and software boundaries.

Responsibilities

• System architecture: IPC, scheduling, synchronization, and resource management for robotics applications.
• Optimize system performance: profile latency, throughput, memory usage, and scheduling across the stack.
• Design for reliability: build diagnostics, health monitoring, and fault-handling systems.
• Debug across the stack: investigate issues spanning hardware, firmware, and software.
