Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA to lead end-to-end robotics development across EVT to MP phases. You will collaborate with R&D, mechanical, electrical, firmware, controls, and manufacturing teams to drive prototype builds and validation.

The role requires 8+ years of robotics experience, strong EE background, CAD proficiency, ROS/ROS2, and subsystem integration. You will review designs from ODMs, support safety testing, and coordinate with contract

Qualifications

• 8+ years in mechatronics leadership for robotics or related fields.
• System-level electrical architecture across multi-board platforms.
• Strong EE background with schematic review of external partners.
• Proficient in CAD tools and robotics subsystems integration.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 and common industrial interfaces.
• Familiarity with safety standards and prototype bring-up.
• Experience with ODMs/contract manufacturers and design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end NPI activities for robotics platforms from EVT to MP.
• Collaborate with R&D, mechanical, electrical, firmware, controls, and manufacturing.
• Drive prototype builds, validation, and design verification.
• Integrate subsystems: actuators, motors, servos, end effectors, sensors.
• Support robotic assembly and bring-up, verify performance and safety.
• Create validation reports and product readiness assessments.
• Work with firmware and hardware on co-development.
• Review artifacts with ODM/CM and plan design improvements.
