Job summary

Dexmate Inc. is seeking a Mechanical & Durability Test Engineer to validate robotics hardware in our lab. You will define test plans, build fixtures, run durability campaigns, and tear down parts to identify root causes.

This hands-on role centers on in-house testing of robot structures, joints, actuators, and life tests. We value hands-on hardware experience, CAD skills, and ability to translate customer usage into rigorous lab specs.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field; hands-on test work counts
• 4+ years in mechanical test, validation, or reliability engineering for robotics/industrial hardware
• Hands-on with shop tools and ability to build test setups
• Experience instrumenting tests with strain gauges, load cells, DAQ
• CAD skills for fixture design (SolidWorks/Onshape)
• Strong root-cause analysis and clear technical writing

Responsibilities

• Translate real customer usage into lab test specs and reliability targets
• Define and execute mechanical validation plans for robot structures, joints, actuators, gearboxes, and bases
• Run strength, stiffness, stability, and environmental tests
• Design and run accelerated life and durability tests on joints, cables, and wear components
• Instrument tests and report results with data analysis
• Correlate test data with design models and feed findings back to engineers
• Lead mechanical failure analysis and teardowns with corrective actions
• Turn test data into risk assessments and ship/no-ship recommendations
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers and labs for certification testing
• Write clear test procedures for technicians and partners
