Job summary

ArcBest is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer III - Infrastructure to design scalable infrastructure across the full autonomous software lifecycle, from source to deployment and field observability.

You will standardize CI/CD pipelines, manage artifact/versioning for software, firmware, and ML models, and support SIL/HIL testing with tools that tie simulation results to real-world vehicle behavior. Collaboration with perception and simulation teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, robotics, EE, or related field required.
• Master's degree or equivalent in robotics, autonomous systems, or distributed systems preferred.
• 4 years of experience in software infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps preferred.
• Hands-on with Linux-based systems and containerized environments required.
• Experience with CI/CD systems, build tooling, and artifact management required.
• Familiar with Bitbucket and Jira automation preferred.
• ML Ops experience including dataset and model versioning and deployment pipelines preferred.
• Familiar with ROS or ROS2 preferred.
• Experience with distributed, real-time, or hardware-integrated systems required.
• Ability to design and maintain cross-team infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and enable shared infrastructure for end-to-end robotics software lifecycle.
• Standardize build systems and CI/CD pipelines across robotics software and simulation.
• Define artifact versioning for binaries, firmware, maps, and vehicle parameters.
• Establish platform standards and reference architectures.
• Enable SIL/HIL and regression simulation workflows and integrate results into CI.
• Support scenario-based testing, coverage tracking, and regression analysis.
• Provide tooling to improve correlation between simulation and real-world vehicle behavior.
• Evolve ML model infrastructure including dataset and model versioning and deployment.
• Define model packaging, deployment, monitoring, and rollback standards.
• Collaborate with perception and autonomy teams for safe deployment.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
