Job summary

Sereact GmbH. in Boston is seeking a Hardware Lead to design mechanical systems for AI-driven robots and provide hands-on technical leadership to our technician team. You will create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings, guide build and assembly, and collaborate with electrical and software disciplines to ensure seamless integration.

This role requires on-site work with some EU onboarding travel and mentoring of technicians. Competitive compensation and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computational Mechanics, Engineering Science or related field.
5+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in robotics or automation.
Experience mentoring technicians or junior engineers in hands-on roles.
Experience in industrial design or special-purpose machinery.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo or similar.
Understanding of mechanical testing and prototyping processes.
Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods and system integration.
Comfortable working on the shop floor alongside technicians.
Ability to travel ~25%.

Responsibilities

Design mechanical systems and components for AI-driven robots.
Create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings.
Optimize designs for cost, efficiency and manufacturability.
Conduct mechanical simulations and performance testing.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure integration with electrical and software systems.
Serve as the technical lead for the technician team, translating designs into build instructions.
