Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Robotics Hardware Engineer II, Manipulation Robotics in Reading, MA to design and deliver premier robotic hardware solutions that scale operations. You will partner with engineers to take concepts to production, delivering hardware for high-performance work cells and collaborating across Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.

You will own mechanical designs, perform CAD modeling, prototype, test, and validate systems, using FEA, and contribute to documentation

Qualifications

• 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with prototyping and implementation.
• Proficiency with computer-aided design software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robotic work cell hardware from concept through production, including specifications, design, prototyping, testing, and validation collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Integrate industrial automation and motion control systems into functional work cells, and specify components such as motors, actuators, pneumatics, sensors, and safety systems
• Conduct mechanical systems analysis using finite element analysis tools and traditional calculations to validate design performance
• Create comprehensive design documentation including drawings, requirements, functional specifications, and validation plans to support future iterations and compliance
• Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and vendor partners to ensure successful product launch and ongoing support
