ABOUT LUMINOUS

Luminous Robotics is automating the construction of utility-scale solar farms. Our robot, LUMI, autonomously installs solar modules, taking on the most labour-intensive part of solar construction and doing it faster, safer, and more consistently than manual crews. We are on a mission to commoditize harsh manual work by deploying embodied AI into the world’s hardest industrial environments, starting with solar.

This is not a concept. LUMI is on active utility-scale solar sites in Australia today, and we are deploying across multiple projects as we scale. Headquartered in Boston with our Australian operation based in Melbourne, we are growing fast, and Australia is a priority market.

The opportunity is enormous. Australia alone needs tens of gigawatts of new solar built this decade, and the global pipeline is an order of magnitude larger. Labour shortages and rising costs are already throttling the industry’s ability to deliver. We are the answer to that bottleneck, and we are moving quickly to capture it.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for an Deployment Robotics Technician to join our growing team at Luminous Robotics. This is a hands-on role central to our Manufacturing & Assembly team. You’ll help build and maintain the infrastructure that supports the rapid development and assembly of our next-generation robotic systems, working closely with engineers and technicians to assemble, test, and refine complex electromechanical systems while ensuring high-quality, reliable prototypes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments, enjoys hands-on problem-solving, and takes pride in bringing cutting-edge hardware to life

  • Travel to different locations within the US
  • Perform system validation testing and documenting results
  • Report anomalies and non-conformances and conduct light troubleshooting
  • Maintain tools and equipment; perform or monitor calibrations as required
  • Support upkeep and cleanliness of production floor, including assisting with reorganization as company scales its product
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior employment in an assembly or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and build documentation.
  • Clear communication skills and a team-first mindset in high-collaboration environments
  • Experience using standard shop equipment a plus
  • Be comfortable lifting objects following OSHA standards
  • Bonus (Assemble robotic components according to instructions and specifications)
  • Bonus (Build and integrate electro-mechanical sub-systems, including wiring and soldering)
  • Bonus (Low voltage systems experience)

Even if you don't feel that you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply!
