Robotics Engineer, Technical Planning and Integration Lead
Job Description

We are actively sourcing candidates and contingent hire employees for anticipated Federal contracts expected during calendar years 2024 and 2025. We are seeking a talented and experienced Robotics Engineer, Technical Planning and Integration Lead to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with customers and supporting efforts to explore, plan, architect, and implement technical plans for robotic solutions. This role involves working closely with customers, subject matter experts, engineers, and robot engineers to ensure integration of robotic solutions into the customer's operational and technical ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

As a Robotics Engineer, Technical Planning and Integration Lead, you will work with customers, partners, and team members to develop plans, requirements, and architectures for how robots can integrate into public service mission and operations.

  • Customer and Partner Collaboration and Exploration: Work closely with industry partners and customers who are exploring and researching robotic solutions, collaboratively developing options on how robotics can integrate into public missions and operations.
  • Robot Use Plan Development: Collaborate with customers to develop comprehensive plans outlining how robots can effectively enhance their business or mission area.
  • Robotic Solution Evaluation and Selection: Evaluate various robotic solutions, including platforms, sensors, navigation, automation, control, software, and AI, and assist customers in selecting the most suitable options.
  • Technical Integration Assessment: Assess technical integration approaches with existing legacy systems (both hardware and software) within the customer's ecosystem to ensure compatibility and efficiency.
  • Use Case and Requirement Development: Develop use cases and detailed technical requirements for robotic solutions tailored to support specific customer mission and operational processes.
  • Robot Platform and AI Integration Strategy: Develop a comprehensive strategy and technical roadmap for the integration of robot platforms and AI technologies, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational objectives.
  • Collaboration with Engineers: Work collaboratively with engineers, including robot engineers, to translate technical plans into actionable solutions and ensure seamless integration.
  • Development and Delivery of Deliverables: Take responsibility for the development and delivery of quality technical and non-technical deliverables, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer expectations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical design, planning, integration, and/or development of complex hardware-based systems or robotic solutions.
  • Robotic Technologies: Experience evaluating, designing, and/or building robotic technologies, including strong understanding of platforms, sensors, navigation, automation, control, software, and AI.
  • Hardware and Software Integration: Experience gathering and developing technical requirements for integrating both hardware and software components within complex systems or solutions.
  • Requirement Elicitation and Analysis: Proficiency in eliciting and analyzing requirements from stakeholders to define clear and actionable requirements for both hardware and software.
  • Technical Architecture: Comprehensive understanding of technical architecture principles, including how hardware and software components interact and integrate to achieve desired functionality.
  • Technical Integration Approaches: Experience in assessing technical integration approaches with existing legacy systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Task Management: Proficiency in task management and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strategic Planning: Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans and technical roadmaps.
  • Prioritization: Ability to prioritize competing demands and organize time effectively.
  • Analytical and Organizational Skills: Well-developed analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in technical design, planning, integration, and/or development of autonomous robots.
  • Experience working with various Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and hardware integration methods.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in robotics and AI integration.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles supporting U.S. government contracts.
  • Experience leading discussions and working sessions with organization leaders and customers.
Other Information

This is a full-time position with typical business hours for team members based out of/reside in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia. The work will be done remotely from NC, SC, or VA. The position may require some travel to customer or partner facilities across the country.
