Job summary

JAB Recruitment seeks an experienced Robotics Engineer to join a growing energy-industry manufacturing operation in Houston. The role involves hands-on work with advanced industrial robotic systems, designing, programming, testing, and commissioning automation solutions across facilities.

Ideal candidates have 3–7 years of robotics experience, strong PLC integration skills, and a Lean/Six Sigma mindset. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 3–7 years of industrial robotics experience.
• Hands-on experience programming industrial robotic systems.
• Strong knowledge of industrial networking and PLC integration.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience preferred.
• Fluent in Chinese and English (bilingual) required.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, test, and commission industrial robotic systems.
• Implement and optimize robotic automation solutions across manufacturing operations.
• Develop robot programs for multiple brands (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa/Motoman, Universal Robots).
• Integrate robotic systems with PLCs, HMIs, conveyors, sensors, and safety systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve robotic performance.
• Optimize cycle times, productivity, safety, and manufacturing quality.
• Lead automation projects and coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma principles.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, program, test, and commission industrial robotic systems.
• Implement and optimize robotic automation solutions across manufacturing operations.
• Develop robot programs using FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa/Motoman, or Universal Robots.
• Integrate robotic systems with PLCs, HMIs, conveyors, sensors, and safety systems.

• Lead automation projects and coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.

What We're Looking For

• Fluent in Chinese and English (Bilingual – Required).
• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of industrial robotics experience.
• Hands-on experience implementing and programming industrial robotic systems.
• Strong knowledge of industrial networking and PLC integration.
• Manufacturing support experience with excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

Preferred

• Experience in energy equipment or heavy manufacturing.
• Robotic welding, machine vision, or collaborative robots.
• Offline robot simulation software or SprutCAM.
• Python or C# programming experience.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
