Job summary

Harvey Nash client is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join a robotics-focused engineering team in Chelmsford, MA. You will develop embedded C++ software for real-time robotic motion control and hardware/software integration in industrial automation projects.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in design reviews, and ensure software quality through testing and debugging. Hybrid role with on-site presence four days per week, competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++11 or later for embedded software development.
• Experience with embedded real-time systems and multi-threading/interrupts.
• Familiarity with BSP/HAL, FPGA integration, and hardware interfaces.
• Strong object-oriented programming and software design skills.
• Experience in SDLC environments with version control, debugging, and Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software for robotics and automation systems to control motion and interface with hardware subsystems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define features and technical requirements.
• Create and communicate software requirements; participate in design reviews.
• Ensure software quality through testing, debugging, and automation practices.
• Improve DevOps processes and development efficiency.
• Assist in test equipment design and robotic hardware/system setup.
• Support manufacturing and field service in troubleshooting remotely or on-site.
