Job summary

Weave Robotics, Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop software closest to the hardware, on a custom compute platform with carrier boards, MCUs, and sensors.

You’ll write MCU firmware, device drivers, and communication stacks across SPI, I2C, RS‑485, CAN, Ethernet, and EtherCAT. You’ll collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up boards, validate functionality, and ensure reliability for the robotics stack.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of embedded software experience in bare-metal, RTOS, or Linux platforms for robotics.
• Driver development from datasheet to robust software interface, including init/config/diagnostics.
• Hardware‑level debugging across hardware, firmware and drivers with probes and traces.
• Experience building real‑time systems with deterministic timing and concurrency control.
• Fluent in C/C++ and comfortable with Python tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop production embedded software for robotic systems, including firmware and drivers.
• Bring up new hardware, read datasheets, and build/test software interfaces to sensors and actuators.
• Develop real‑time software that meets timing constraints and handles faults gracefully.
• Own buses like GMSL, RS‑485, CAN, SPI/I2C, and debug with scope/logic analyzers.
• Create bring‑up checklists and bridge bench to mass production.
