Job summary

Zekelman Industries is seeking a hands-on operator to set up and run high-speed equipment with robotic elements for forming or cutting steel to spec. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timely reporting, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement on the production floor.

You will calibrate machinery, inspect materials, maintain tooling, and assist maintenance teams while working a full-time, on-site schedule in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to maintain production records and logs.
• Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Experience with measuring devices such as tape measure, micrometers, and calipers.
• Ability to operate forklift, crane and related equipment.
• Detail oriented with the ability to work independently.
• Regular, full-time onsite attendance is an essential function.
• Lead and promote health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate high speed equipment with robotic elements to form or cut steel.
• Observe safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment efficiently and effectively.
• Advanced set up and calibration of all equipment.
• Inspect materials for quality and report deficiencies.
• Maintain equipment tooling and tools necessary for job completion.
• Diagnose equipment and quality problems to minimize scrap.
• Complete reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap material.
• Assist maintenance in repairs and PM of equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
