Job summary

Zekelman Industries in Kansas City, MO is hiring for a setter/operator to run high-speed forming and cutting equipment with robotic elements to meet exact specifications.

Responsibilities include setup/calibration, quality inspection, recording material data, and maintaining tooling. You will follow safety/LOTO rules, assist with repairs and maintenance, and support continuous improvement efforts. Shift: 5:30am–4:00pm. Onsite role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.
• Able to perform math including decimals and fractions.
• Experience with measuring devices such as tape measure, micrometers, and calipers.
• Ability to operate forklift, crane and related equipment.
• Detail oriented with ability to work independently.
• Regular, full-time onsite attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety and LOTO rules while operating equipment.
• Advanced setup and calibration of equipment.
• Inspect materials for quality before, during, and after run.
• Record and report deficiencies to supervisor/quality.
• Maintain tooling and tools required for job completion.
• Diagnose equipment and quality issues and minimize scrap.
• Complete production, changeover, and scrap reports.
• Assist maintenance with repairs and PM.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
