Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Reading, MA is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build scalable data ingestion pipelines for multi-modal datasets used in robotics and AI research. You will own end-to-end development in a large distributed system and collaborate with science teams to integrate ML workflows.

The role requires 3+ years of professional software development and experience with C#, C++, Java, or Perl; a BS in CS/Engineering; and comfort with cloud services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience of large-scale systems.
• Experience designing and developing multi-tiered distributed software applications in C#, C++, Java, or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data ingestion pipelines that process multi-modal recordings into structured datasets.
• Develop search and discovery services for datasets across large catalogs.
• Build data transformation and quality validation frameworks for data quality.
• Implement episode segmentation workflows for continuous session recordings.
• Collaborate with science teams to integrate ML training workflows and notebooks.
• Design and develop cloud-native solutions using AWS services (S3, OpenSearch, Lambda, Step Functions).
• Contribute to metadata enrichment tooling and automated documentation generation.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain CI/CD and operational excellence.
• Work in an agile environment with resilient, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity and data quality.
