Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in San Francisco is hiring for a hands-on data collection lead within Frontier AI & Robotics. You will own early-stage collection workflows, calibrate data quality, and guide researchers, engineers, and operators to deliver training-ready datasets.

You will develop robust SOPs, manage risk, and mentor collectors while driving improvements across multiple stations and teams in a fast, robotics-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or STEM fields.
• Experience diagnosing hardware, software, or process issues and taking corrective actions.
• Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills for risk assessment and decision making.
• Ability to translate research requirements into executable procedures and quality checks.
• Experience training and mentoring others and communicating complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical execution and continuous improvement of early-stage data collection for robotics.
• Lead end-to-end collection iterations from requirements to training-ready data and delivery.
• Develop SOPs and acceptance criteria; maintain version control and adoption.
• Diagnose complex issues across robotics hardware, sensors, and data integrity; engage engineers when needed.
• Coach data collectors, calibrate against quality standards, and build troubleshooting skills.
• Assess risks, equipment readiness, data loss, and quality, with defined escalation.
• Own collection performance metrics and use dashboards for root-cause analysis.
• Drive operational improvements and reusable workflows across stations and teams.
• Coordinate researchers, engineers, operations and partners; communicate priorities and risks.
