Job summary

Leigh Fibers Inc in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Cutter Operator for 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm) to operate robots and cutters and ensure timely, quality cutting of blends into blend boxes.

The role requires setting discharge rate, blade tensions, and routine servicing; reading and following safety procedures; lifting up to 50 lbs; and contributing to team improvements in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and convey ideas.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs with adequate body flexibility.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate robots, cutters and associated equipment to ensure timely and quality cutting of blends into blend boxes.
• Set robot discharge rate, cutter belt speed, and diverter setups for optimum performance.
• Change robot and cutter blades, vibrator pads, and unchoke diverters as needed.
• Perform routine servicing procedures for cutters and robots.
• Provide on-the-job training as assigned by supervisor for other employees.
• Suggest safety and production improvements and comply with safety programs.
