Job summary

Helion Group is seeking an experienced Robotics Technician in Emporia, VA to troubleshoot, program, and maintain ABB welding and cutting systems. You will re-home and reprogram robots using teach pendants, support weekend calls, and assist with new robot installations.

The role involves troubleshooting PLCs and electrical systems from 480V to 24V, assisting electricians with terminations, and training maintenance staff on robot operation and troubleshooting. On-site work required.

Qualifications

Experience troubleshooting ABB robotic welding/cutting systems.
Ability to re-home, reprogram ABB robots using teach pendant.
Experience programming PLCs and adjusting parameters.
Electrical system troubleshooting from 480V to 24V.
Willingness to install and bring robots online and support weekend as needed.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, maintain, and program ABB robotic welding and cutting systems.
Use teaching pendants to re-home, reprogram, and adjust robot operations.
Bring outdated robots back online and assist with new robot installations.
Support electricians with CAT cable terminations and 480V equipment tasks.
Train maintenance staff on robot operation, programming, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with vendors, supervisors, and project manager on automation projects.
Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
