Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Nampa, ID is seeking a Robotics/Automation Engineering Technician I for our Manufacturing Division. You will design, assemble, program, and validate mechanical and robotic solutions on the production floor, working with customers and a small agile team.

You should have a 2-year technical degree or equivalent, strong problem-solving, and good communication. Experience with robotics, vision systems, and CAD is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-year+ technical degree or equivalent training/experience.
• Strong applied physics, geometry, algebra and basic trigonometry knowledge.
• Industrial automation fundamentals: controls, sensors, safety, industrial programming & networks.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on design work and problem solving with customers.
• Collaborate from problem statement to solution integration and deployment.
• Develop mechanical solutions to make production safer, more reliable and economical.
• Use robotics, end-of-arm tooling, vision systems and CAD in real projects.
• Program, assemble and do CAD work; validate solutions on the production floor.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to timely, budget-conscious delivery.
