Job summary

Iowa Valley Community College District seeks a Robotics and Automation Faculty member to teach assigned courses in the MCC Faculty department, with a 30 load hours per year schedule. The position may require teaching at other district campuses and delivery formats including online, hybrid, and face-to-face.

The instructor will contribute professional expertise to the division and college, meet goals in the Professional Development Plan, and support IVCCD’s mission and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s degree and 12 graduate credits in the academic discipline for arts and sciences courses.
• Approval to teach in the assigned area as defined by Department of Education and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
• Candidates should demonstrate expertise in the field to be taught and/or prior teaching experience, preferably at the post-secondary level.

Responsibilities

• Effectively organize, prepare, and teach assigned courses in accordance with syllabi to students with varying backgrounds; maintain a classroom environment supporting retention and completion.
• Minimum of 5 office hours per week; minimum 35 hours of work per week.
• Provide feedback to students regarding learning outcomes and progress in a timely manner (generally within 48 hours).
• Participate in committees, orientations, recruitment and retention activities, enrollment events, advising, and meetings.
• Engage in department’s assessment initiatives and instructional improvement; complete year program review and advisory committee meetings as required.
