Job summary

Francis Howell School District seeks an Assistant Robotics Coach/Sponsor to help plan, organize, and supervise the district's robotics program. You will mentor students, guide STEM skill development, and ensure program activities align with district and robotics organization rules.

You will promote teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship while supporting instruction in engineering design, programming, robot construction, testing, and competition strategy.

Qualifications

  • Valid Missouri teaching certificate preferred.
  • Non-certificated applicants must have a minimum of sixty college credit hours from an accredited college or university.
  • Previous coaching, sponsorship, robotics, engineering, STEM, or related experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents/guardians, staff, administrators, and community members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing, supervising, and administering the school's robotics program.
  • Assist with recruiting, supervising, and mentoring student participants.
  • Assist with planning and conducting practices, meetings, workshops, and competition preparation activities.
  • Provide instruction and support in engineering design, programming, robot construction, testing, and competition strategy.
  • Promote teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and responsible citizenship among participants.
  • Assist with supervising students during practices, competitions, travel, and other program-related activities.
  • Assist in coordinating participation in robotics competitions, exhibitions, and community outreach events.
  • Support compliance with all district policies and the rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements of the governing robotics organization.
  • Assist with maintaining an inventory of robotics equipment, tools, and materials and ensure they are properly maintained.
  • Assist with program budget and expenditures in accordance with district procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, administrators, staff, and community partners regarding schedules, expectations, and program activities.
  • Encourage academic success and monitor student eligibility requirements.
  • Attend required sponsor meetings, trainings, and competitions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Activities Director.

Job Summary

The Assistant Robotics Coach/Sponsor assists with the planning, organization, and supervision of the school's robotics program. The Assistant Coach/Sponsor provides instruction, guidance, and mentorship to students while supporting the development of skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This position promotes teamwork, leadership, innovation, problem-solving, and sportsmanship while assisting with all aspects of the robotics program and ensuring compliance with district policies and the rules and regulations of the governing robotics organization.
