Position Summary

A coach/sponsor will mentor, guide, and support students in their athletic or extracurricular pursuits by fostering personal growth, teamwork, and skill development.

Essential Functions

• Provide supervision of students during all aspects of the program
• Develop training programs, provide instruction and feedback
• Foster team cohesion
• Plan competitions and contests, including out‑of‑season activities
• Collaborate with school administration
• Ensure compliance with regulations
• Promote sportsmanship and character development in an encouraging and inclusive environment
• Proactively communicate schedules and information to parents and administration
• Adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in District Form 5002 Code of Conduct – Coaches, Sponsors, and Chaperones

Essential Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and experience in the sport or activity
• Leadership skills and ability to set an example for players
• Effective communication skills to inspire players and work with them on improvement
• Availability to work nights, holidays, evenings, weekends, and in inclement weather; willingness to travel with the team to different locations for competitions
• (Head Coaches) Willingness to provide off‑season training and practice following MSHSAA Guidelines

Basic Requirements

Compensation

RSD contracted teacher will be paid a stipend. RSD hourly employee will be paid the same stipend amount at an hourly rate. Non‑RSD staff will be paid the same stipend at an hourly rate.
