Job summary

SoftServe seeks a Senior Architect to shape the architecture of physical AI and multi-fleet management systems at the intersection of robotics, AI and real-world hardware. You will drive technical strategy for outdoor vehicle systems, guiding cross-functional teams from concept to production and defining how new capabilities and retrofitted equipment integrate into intelligent solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience in C++, Python, or Julia, including 3+ years in lead or architect roles.
• Proven experience modeling continuous, discrete, and event-driven systems for industrial and robotics applications.
• Strong command of simulation frameworks such as MATLAB/Simulink, Mathematica, Modelica, Ansys, or OpenFOAM.
• Hands‑on experience with physics‑based simulation tools, including Gazebo, NVIDIA Isaac, or V-REP.
• Solid understanding of control theory, estimation, and optimization techniques for linear and nonlinear systems.
• Proven ability to define system-level architectures and complex, efficient algorithms for robotics systems.
• Experience with distributed control systems, real-time systems, and Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience leading design reviews and mentoring engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end architecture for robotics and industrial systems, working closely with digital twins of real-world hardware and control systems.
• Lead process modeling and optimization strategy for continuous, discrete, and event-driven systems, improving reliability, safety, and performance.
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into architecture blueprints, prototypes, and production-ready roadmaps.
• Guide the retrofit of existing equipment with intelligent, AI-driven components, ensuring clean integration with existing systems and interfaces.
• Establish testing and validation strategy for robotics and industrial solutions across simulation and real-world environments.
• Define architectural standards for automated robotic systems that enhance production efficiency, precision, and safety within target industries.
• Lead engineering teams through design reviews, mentoring, and adoption of architectural best practices across the delivery lifecycle.
• Research emerging trends in robotics, including control, motion planning, sensing, and decision-making, and translate findings into reusable accelerators.
