Job summary

FANUC America in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an Applications Engineer (Physical AI) to support FANUC robot products in physical AI, external motion control, virtual commissioning, and digital twin technologies for internal and external customers. You will lead technical efforts, train users, and collaborate across sales and product teams.

The role requires hands-on engineering experience, strong coding in Python/C++, ROS2, and Linux/Docker, plus regional travel to WA and other states

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical or mechanical engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years engineering and integration of industrial robotics automation with reading electrical/control prints.
Minimum 3 years in motion planning or related field.
Strong coding in Python, C++, and ROS2; experience with Linux and Docker.

Responsibilities

Serve as tech leader for physical AI and virtual commissioning applications guiding customers and teams.
Provide pre- and post-sales technical support including demonstrations and feasibility studies.
Identify accounts regionally; build relationships and train customer staff.
Troubleshoot, perform root-cause analysis, and document resolutions for support requests.
Collaborate with sales and product teams on advanced robotics solutions and new applications.
Support iRVision evaluations and accompany sales on high-visibility calls.
