Job summary

Moderna Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Engineer I - Robotics Applications to deploy, configure, and support robotics systems across the manufacturing network with emphasis on Drug Product. You will work with controls, hardware, and digital teams to ensure reliable, compliant operations and up to 25% travel during critical phases.

The role focuses on hands-on implementation, system testing (FAT/SAT), and ongoing optimization in GMP environments, with collaboration across global sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years of robotics, automation, or manufacturing systems experience.
• Experience with industrial robots (Staubli, Fanuc, ABB, etc.).
• GMP manufacturing environment exposure preferred.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow in robotics and automation.
• Technical project management experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, configuration, and commissioning of robotics systems
• Assist in robot programming, vision system setup, and workflow configuration
• Execute FAT, SAT, and commissioning protocols
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during deployment and operations
• Support validation documentation and testing activities
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams during system implementation
• Assist in continuous improvement and optimization of robotics processes
• Support integration of robotics systems with existing equipment and workflows
• Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and data integrity standards
