Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Robotic Welding Technician (Programmer) to join our team. You will program, troubleshoot and prepare welding robots for production, while guiding robot operators and junior programmers.

In this role you will continuously improve cycle time and throughput, diagnose machine issues, and ensure adherence to safety and quality policies. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with GMAW are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English and communicate effectively.
• Ability to read welding blueprints.
• Ability to pass print reading and measurement tests.
• Demonstrate high level of mechanical aptitude (non-traditional backgrounds welcome).
• Excellent computer skills.
• Able to travel for machine-specific training with robotic company.
• Knowledge and experience using the GMAW processes.

Responsibilities

• Programming, troubleshooting, debugging and preparation of welding robots for production.
• Teach and train robot operators as well as programmers.
• Improve cycle time and throughput by adjusting robot path and function.
• Diagnose and correct machine issues.
• Ensure all jobsite safety procedures and standards are met.
• Observe and implement company housekeeping, safety, and quality policies.
