Job summary

Standard Iron is seeking an experienced Robotic Welding Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and optimize automated welding systems on the Hartford, WI shop floor. You will lead process improvements, troubleshoot cells, and ensure quality per AWS standards.

Responsibilities include programming ABB systems, tuning parameters, calibrating sensors, and overseeing cell commissioning and safety compliance. Collaboration with tooling and maintenance teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding, Mechanical, or Automation/Robotics Engineering is preferred; Associate degree with hands‑on experience will be considered.
• 3–5+ years of direct experience engineering robotic welding applications in heavy manufacturing, automotive, or structural steel fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Program ABB robotic welding paths using teach pendants and Offline Programming (OLP).
• Tune arc parameters, travel angles, speeds, voltage, and wire feed to ensure weld quality and reduce cycle times.
• Calibrate sensors and guidance systems (TAST, touch sensing, laser/vision).
• Lead commissioning of new robotic weld cells from design to production launch.
