Job summary

Technique is seeking a Robotic Welding Technician / Programmer to operate and program MIG/TIG welding cells at our defense weld assembly plant in lower Michigan. The role covers fault recovery, fixture setup, and process improvement across Level 1 and Level 2 competencies.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of welding experience, hands-on control of Motoman, Panasonic, or Fanuc robots, and offline programming experience (RoboGuide/RobotStudio). US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of industrial welding experience.
• Competency in Prototype Welding Technician Level 2 functions.
• Hands-on experience with Motoman, Panasonic, or Fanuc controllers.
• PLC screen navigation and program selection.
• GD&T fluency and ability to troubleshoot via CMM data.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot from CMM reports and data.
• Recover robot from faults and restart programs.
• Adjust welding points and parameters to maintain quality.
• Change programs from PLC screen for production changes.
• Apply GD&T understanding to prints and inspections.
• Change out welding fixtures for job changes.
• Run and adjust robotic welders, including fixture setup.
• Prepare jobs with offline programming for Level 2.
• Troubleshoot robot welders independently and with OEM support.
• Drive process improvements using CMM insights.
