Technique is looking for a Robotic Welding Technician / Programmer to join our team at our defense weld assembly plant in lower Michigan. This position operates and programs robotic MIG/TIG welding cells supporting defense-program weld assemblies. Team members progress through two competency tiers, each building on the prior level’s skill set, taking on increasing responsibility for robot programming, fixture setup, troubleshooting, and process improvement. Because this facility supports defense contracts, export-control and facility-security considerations apply alongside standard hiring practices.
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 2 years of industrial welding experience, competency in Prototype Welding Technician Level 2 functions, and hands-on experience with at least one of the Motoman, Panasonic, or Fanuc robot controllers. PLC screen navigation, GD&T fluency, and the ability to troubleshoot builds using CMM reports are critical factors in this role. For Level 2, verifiable offline programming experience (RoboGuide, RobotStudio, or equivalent) and independent CMM-driven troubleshooting are required.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a minimum of 40 hours per week with overtime as needed. Note: days, hours, and shifts required may vary. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
