Job summary

Schuette Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a welder to operate robotic welding equipment and finish weld assemblies to meet specifications while following safety policies. The role involves setting up fixtures, reading blueprints, and performing routine maintenance.

Two shifts available: 1st 5:00am-1:30pm and 2nd 1:30pm-12:00am; candidates must lift up to 50 lbs, stand long hours, and maintain punctual attendance. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, or tend robotic welding machines to join components.
• Select, position, align, and bolt jigs and fixtures onto machines.
• Prepare metal surfaces using grinders, cutters or drills as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, perform welder setup procedures and routine maintenance.

Position Summary

Primarily responsible for operating one or more weld machines to finish weld assemblies to meet requirements while abiding my company and safety policies and procedures.

Schedules

• 1st Shift 5:00am-1:30pm (Monday-Friday)
• 2nd Shift 1:30pm-12:00am (Monday-Thursday)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, or tend robotic welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
• Select, position, align, and bolt jigs, holding fixtures, guides, or stops onto machines, using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Prepare metal surfaces or workpieces, using hand-operated equipment, such as grinders, cutters, or drills.
• Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, complete necessary welder set-up procedures and perform routine preventative maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• One year certificate from college or technical school: or three to six months related experience and/or training.
• Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a robotic welder to exact positions.
• Physically, must be able to lift up to 50lbs., bend, squat, twist, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime.
• Prompt and reliable attendance required.
