Job summary

Huntsville Hospital seeks a Certified First Assistant to join the surgical team. Under the supervision of the RN/Physician, you will facilitate safe and effective invasive procedures and ensure the OR environment supports patient safety.

You will apply sterile technique, anatomy knowledge, and instrument handling to support the surgical team. Requirements include high school/GED, completion of a Scrub Tech program and a First Assistant Program, NBSTSA certification, and prior scrub experience,

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED required; Scrub Tech program completed; First Assistant Program completed.
• License/Certification: NBSTSA certification; BLS within orientation period.
• Experience: Prior Scrub Assistant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist as a scrub assistant under RN supervision.
• Maintain sterile and aseptic technique in the operating room.
• Support safe, efficient conduct of invasive procedures and patient safety.
