Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (PRN) to support our Surgical Services team. You will work directly with the surgeon in the operating room, scrub in, and assist during a variety of procedures across gynecology, general, thoracic, urology, spine and joint replacement.

The role requires CST certification, BCLS/CPR within 30 days of start, and at least 1 year of First Assist experience.

Qualifications

• Certified First Assist experience required.
• BCLS certification within 30 days of start date.
• Certificate or Associate Degree required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during procedures and scrub in the OR.
• Position patient to provide exposure for the procedure.
• Utilize open, laparoscopic, and robotic equipment as needed.
• Perform instrumentation, suturing, tissue handling and hemostasis.
• Close incisions with appropriate suturing techniques per surgeon preference.
• Provide postoperative care such as dressings and patient transfer.
