As a Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist, you’re on the front‑row of some incredible moments. You provide support during surgeries, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and ensuring everything is ready and in place while maintaining patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary surgical assistance to surgeons during operative procedures.
• Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
• Use surgical instruments skillfully in ways consistent with their designs and purposes.
• Assure availability of instrumentation and supplies required for the surgical procedure prior to the case.
• Understand and practice principles of sterilization, universal precautions, and hazardous materials management when processing instruments, equipment, and supplies through the stages of decontamination.
• Assist in transporting patients postoperatively.
• Stay updated on the latest surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimal requirements (Must‑Haves):

• 2 years of related experience
• Surgical Technology Diploma
• Surgical Tech‑First Assist certification through The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
